Andrew started his life not in automotive but as a Retail Manager for 6 years working for Sainsburys. Straight out of school he worked as a Manager in various different departments eventually moving to operations in a number of senior roles. In 2000 he decided to go into the family towbar business and spent the first two years learning how to work on cars installing towbars and electrics. This is where his journey with car parts started.
Andrew thought there was a opportunity to sell Towbars on the internet and posted his first listing on eBay in 2003. Operating from a three bedroom house within a year he was shipping out 100 towbars a week. When the DHL lorry could not get to the property to collect the deliveries it was at that time he decided that the operation needed to expand into a 1000 sq foot warehouse. In 2006 he was proud of the team reaching sales of over £1m on eBay which was the first seller within parts and accessories to do so in the UK.
In 2010 eBay asked Rowson to work with some Brands looking to sell on the platform but had no Idea on the process. He helped bring some big brands like Aston Martin to the site. That drove him to create emotiv in 2012, an full marketplace service agency dedicated to helping Brands and Sellers embrace the marketplace journey.
Today EMotiv has 80 talented individuals striving to provide services for automotive brand he has managed over £200m of marketplace automotive parts sales online.
